Captain LYMAN CREAGAN RICHARDSON 38379276, United States Army. Husband of (Eleanor Sims Richardson, 436 Gladstone, Shreveport, and father of Katheryn Sims Richardson. He was born December 6, 1920, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lyman Richardson, Shreveport, and attended Byrd High School. He graduated from Georgia Military Academy, College Park, in 1939, and from Louisiana State University in January, 1943, prior to entering the armed service February 6, 1943 at the age of 22. Graduating from Officer Candidate School May 29, 1943, he was assigned to the Infantry School, Fort Benning, as a battalion adjutant and physical training instructor. He was attached to the 1st Student Training Regiment in the Advanced Course prior to going to Fort Ord, California, for overseas shipment February 9, 1945, at Leyte, P. I. Arriving in Leyte March 10, 1945, he was assigned to ‘the 4th Replacement Depot as battalion adjutant, 15th Replacement Battalion. The depot was transferred to Zama, Honshu, Japan (PTO), in October, 1945, and detailed by the 8th Army to process returnees to the States. Captain Richardson has the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one battle star for the Leyte Campaign. The 4th Replacement Depot was awarded the Meritorious Service Plaque in January, 1946.
