Private First Class Francis Edmond Rawling 36431303 US Army KIA. He was born on November 30, 1918, the son of Henry E. Rawlings, and Mary Younker Rawlings. He was married to Margaret Joan “Maggie” Milinovich Lynn On May 14, 1944. He entered the US Army on October 14, 1942 in Peoria Illinois, at the age of 24. He served in 2nd Battalion Headquarters Company, 381st Infantry Regiment, 96th Infantry Division. He was killed in action on Okinawa on April 26, 1945, at the age of 26. He earned the Bronze Star Medal with a V on Okinawa. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart Medal, the Bronze Star Medal with a V and 1 oak leaf Clusters, The American Theater of operations, The Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations, and the World War Two Victory Medal. He was laid to rest in Flint Michigan, on March 25, 1949.
