He earned the Bronze Star Medal with a V on Okinawa. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart Medal, the Bronze Star Medal with a V and 1 oak leaf Clusters, The American Theater of operations, The Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations, and the World War Two Victory Medal. He was laid to rest in Flint Michigan, on March 25, 1949
