1st Lieutenant Wendell A, Peters 38110992 US Army. Born 30 December 1915 in Denver, Colorado. He attended Barnum and Perry grade schools, West High, and Denver University; and entered military service on 20 April 1942, at the age of 26. He received his preliminary training, anti-aircraft artillery, at Fort Eustis, Virginia; later served as master gunner with the 450th AA Artillery Battalion at Camp Davis, North Carolina; graduated from Officers Candidate School at Camp Davis; and served at Camp Tyson, Tennessee; Fort Myers, Florida; Selfridge Field, Michigan; Laredo, Texas; and was Base Gunnery Officer, 118th Base Unit, 477th Composite Group, Third Air Force at Godman Field, Kentucky. Lieutenant Peters was honorably discharged on 17 May 1946, with the honor of a high scholastic. He was the First to attend and graduate combat gunnery officers course, Fort Myers, Florida, and Laredo, Texas; and first Flexible Gunnery Officer, Army Air Corps. The son of Alfred S. and Cora I. Peters Of Denver; he is the husband of the former Miss Katherine White, and they are the parents of twin daughters, Joan and Janet. He is also the Brother in law of Technician Fifth Grade T/5 Thomas Frederick White.
