Technician 5th grade JACOB C. PARMER

Technician 5th grade JACOB C. PARMER, U. S. Army. Brother of Seaman 1st Class RICHARD PARMER. Son of Mr. and Mrs. George Browning Parmer of, Route l, Haughton. He was born January 21, 1920, and attended schools at Pease Chapel, Bellevue, and Haughton, Louisiana, Martin Springs and Chandler, Texas. He entered the Army in the Service Forces on November 21, 1942, in Shreveport Louisiana at the age of 22. He was assigned to duty at Camp Wolters, Texas, Camp Polk, Harmon General Hospital at Longview, Texas, and Borden General Hospital at Chickasha, Oklahoma. In addition to work with the Service Forces in hospitals, he served as an escort for patients and wounded men on their way to hospitals or other destinations. He was granted his honorable discharge March 2, 1946, at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas, after more than three years and three months of faithful and unselfish service to his country in the Army Service Forces.
