Technician 5th grade GLYNN C. PARKER 38522326
Technician fifth grade T/5 GLYNN C. PARKER 38522326, U. S. Army. He is the son of Mrs. Jack Cryer of Route 2, Leesville. He was born August 4, 1925, and attended Pickering High School until he was called into service on October 29, 1943, at the age of 18. He was assigned to the United States Army Medical Department. He served at Fort Custer, Michigan; Camp Reynolds, Pennsylvania, with the Military Police, and Camp Ellis, Illinois, and Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with the 78th Field Hospital. Embarking from Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, on December 26, 1944, for Southampton, England, he served in the European Theatre at Southampton with the 97th General Hospital, then went to LeHavre, France, landing March 26, 1945, and to Germany, on April 8, 1945. He was active in the operation of the 78th Field Hospital in Halberstadt, Germany, until June 7, 1945. He fought in the Campaign for Central Germany and was stationed with the 78th Field Hospital at Giesen, Verdun, Dijon, Nancy, and Metz. He was also in Cherbourg, France, and the Carentan Peninsula with the 578th Quartermaster Battalion, and served with the American Graves Registration Command. He has the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct, and Victory Medals, and the European African Middle Eastern Theater (ETO) Ribbon with one campaign star, and was honorably discharged May 22, 1946. He is also the brother of SKT First Class, MALCOLM WAYNE PARKER.
