BEN EDGAR NETHERTON

BEN EDGAR NETHERTON United States Coast Guard. Brother of Lieutenant WALTER DONALDSON NETHERTON KIA, Private First Class ORVILLE ANDREW NETHERTON and Captain GROVER TILLMAN NETHERTON. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Grover T. Netherton, 3302 West College St., Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born December 17, 1927, and attended Queensborough Grammar School and Fair Park High School, enlisting in the United States Coast Guard on February 19, 1946, at Shreveport, Louisiana. The youthful Coast Guardsman received his recruit training at the United States Coast Guard Training Station, Alameda, California, and embarked immediately after completion of his boot training for Honolulu, T. H., leaving May 12, 1946. He was continuing to serve with the United States Coast Guard in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, stationed at Honolulu.
