Private First Class BENNIE C. NELSON 34087319 KIA US Army. He was born on September 2, 1917 in Newell, Alabama the son of Lou J Nelson, and Lee Nelson. He is also the brother of Earl Nelson, whom was also Killed in Action on September 30, 1944. PFC BENNIE C. NELSON entered the service on August 23, 1941, at the age of 23. He trained at Camp Wolters, Texas. He embarkation for the European Theater of Operations on June 17, 1944. He served with Company A , 119th Infantry Regiment 30th Infantry Division. He was wounded in Action in France on August 22, 1944 and died of his wounds the same day, at the age of 26. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, and the Purple Heart Medal.
