He Entered the Army on May 28 1941, around the age of 23. He trained at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; served in England, North Africa and Italy. Awarded ETO Campaign Ribbon and four Bronze Stars, American Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
