Staff Sergeant WILLJOHN GRUBBS MONTAGUE 13118282 US Army KIA. He was born on May 28, 1921 the son of James Montague, and Lydda Montague of Bath County, Virginia. He entered the Army October 3, 1942, at the age of 21. He served in the European Theater of operations with Company G and L, 319th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division. He served in the same battalion commanded by his father in 1917 —1919. Killed in action, October 8, 1944, at the age of 23. He earned the Purple Heart Medal (PHM), Combat Infantry Badge, European Theater of operations Medals earned, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Medals, and World War Two Victory Medal.
