Durwad Milliorn, Merchant Marine, KIA. He was born on November 21, 1920, in Navarro, Texas. He was the son of T/5 Sarah Virginia (Sallie) Rawson Milliorn, and William Van Milliorn. He was also the brother of four sisters Mrs. Joe Shannon, Mrs. Robbie Lynn Headley, Virginia Milliorn and Ruth Milliorn, and brother in law of Joe B Shannon, and Jack Vanderzyl. Durwad graduate from Paschal High School in 1939 he was employed by Hotel Texas until his enlistment. He enlisted in the Merchant Marine in June 1942, at the age of 21. He received his training at St. Petersburg, Fla., and New Orleans, La. He was Killed in Action on March 18, 1943, at the age of 22, when his ship the Walter Q. Gresham was sunk by a U Boat.
