Staff Sergeant William Preston McBee 18021008

Staff Sergeant William Preston McBee 18021008, He was born on November 15, 1921, the son of Martin and Mabel McBee of Krum Texas. He graduate of Krum High School. Enlisted September 10, 1940, at the age of 18. At the time of his enlistment he weighed 154 pounds he had brown Eyes Brown Hair and was 5 foot 11 inches. He served overseas February 1945. As of 1945 he was serving on B-17 in England. Aerial gunner. Awarded Air Medal. Wounded April, 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He married Jane “Janie” Belle Winans on November 30, 1945, in Somerset, Texas. They had four children. He died on March 3, 2001, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the age of 79.
