Major Ralph W. Malone

Major Ralph Waldo Malone, son of Mrs. MR. M.J. Malone, of Dallas, he was born at McKleansboro, Illinois, on March 22, 1892. He finished his education at the University of Texas, receiving from this institution an LL. B. degree. He entered the service on August 27, 1917, receiving his commission as a First Lieutenant at the Second Officers’ Training Camp, Leon Springs. He was first assigned to the 343rd field Artillery, at Camp Travis. Following this he was sent to Fort Sill, Okla., School of Fire for a ten weeks course for artillery officers. Was then assigned to 31st Field Artillery, 11th Division, stationed at Camp Meade, Maryland. He organized and commanded the 31st Field Artillery for six weeks and was finally succeeded by Colonel Henry L. Stimson, who was Secretary of War under President Taft. After the arrival of Colonel Stimson Major Malone served as Commander of the 2nd Battalion until the close of the war. He was discharged from the service in December, 1918. He was a lawyer after the war. In 1942 he was living at 3829 Mockingbird Lane in Highland Park Texas he was 50 years old he was 5 foot 10 inches tall weighed 185 pounds and had Blue eyes and Blonde and gray hair.
