Aviation Ordnanceman, First Class George Edward Lott,

Aviation Ordnanceman, First Class George Edward Lott, US Navy KIA. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Lott of Slaton, and husband of Addie Jo Lott of Dallas, was born October 19, 1909. He volunteered for the Navy on January 15, 1942, and was trained and stationed at NAS at Corpus Christi Texas until January, 1944. At this time he went to Pasco, Washington, with Fighter Squadron VC—94, which left for the Pacific area on the Carrier, Shamrock Bay, from San Diego on November 11, 1944. They were on duty in the Hawaiian and Admiralty Islands before George died of injuries received aboard a plane on December 27, 1944, at the age of 35. He was buried with full military honors at Port Lorengau, Manus Island. He had been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Purple Heart Medal.
