Private First Class Raymond L. Johnson

Private First Class Raymond L. Johnson US Army. Born 3 September 1917 in Colorado. Attended Greeley schools and entered service on 3 March 1942 at the age of 24. Trained at Camp Haan, California, and served with Company C, 115th Medical Battalion, 40th Infantry Division. Was with initial landing in Lingayen Gulf and aided in the liberation of Clark Field. Previously served in Hawaii, Guadalcanal and New Britain, and made assault landings on Mosbato and Mindanao. Holds the Bronze Arrowhead, Asiatic Pacific (PTO) Ribbon with 3 Stars, Combat Medical Badge (CMB), Philippine Liberation, Good Conduct, and Victory Medal. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson of Denver, and brother of Aviation Machinist’s Mate, First Class Charles R. Johnson.
