Sergeant Stanley Eugene Green 39194303
Sergeant Stanley Eugene Green 39194303 US Army. He was born on August 4, 1914, in Puyallup, Washington, the son of Emil Gron Green and Theressa Elizabeth Lowe Green. He had Blue eyes and Black hair. He entered the US army on November 7, 1942 in Tacoma Washington at the age of 28. On June 12, 1944 Sgt. Green was serving as a machine gunner in Fox Company, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. On this date he killed 30 Germans with his M1919A4. He requested a transfer out of the Airborne because he thought the paratroops we’re disorganized and ended up in the 9th Infantry Division. He was 30 years old at the time so no one questioned him. He served in I Company, 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division. He receives a Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in February 1945 and on April 16th, 1945 at the Ruhr River, Germany. He was discharged on Aug. 28, 1945, at the age of 31.
After the war he married Carrie Belle Walker on January 1, 1957, in Kelso, Washington. They had seven children during their marriage. He died on August 10, 1978, in American Lake, Washington, at the age of 64.
