John LaVerne Gilbert

John LaVerne Gilbert was born on March 15, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Cecil Dewitt Gilbert and Juanita Lorain Craven Gilbert. He served in the US Army in World War Two. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foor 10 inches tall he weighed 157 pounds he had brown hair and Blue eyes.

He married Elizabeth Ann Launius Wilkins Gilbert on March 31, 1946, in his hometown. Elizabeth 1st husband was Lt. Robert Gerald Wilkins KIA. Elizabeth and John had two children during their marriage. He died on May 20, 2002, in Clarksville, Tennessee, at the age of 77, and was buried in Erin, Tennessee.
