PFC James W. Fisher Sr

PFC James W. Fisher Sr., US Army. He was born August 10, 1910. James was the son Mr. and Mrs. Virge T. Fisher of Rowlett, Texas. He received his education in Garland, Texas, and entered service April 9, 1942, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 31. Before the war he was working as a Barber. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 10 inches tall weighed 153 pounds had Black hair and brown eyes. He was assigned to Army Medical Corps General Hospital and trained at Camp Robinson and Camp Forrest. He served overseas from Sept., 1943, to Nov., 1945, in Africa and Italy. He participated in the campaigns of Naples-Foggia and Rome - Arno. He was discharged Nov. 27, 1945. After the war he was a Barber. He had one son and one daughter with Opal Chessie Price Fisher between 1946 and 1949. He died on October 26, 1981, in his hometown at the age of 71, and was buried in Garland, Texas.
