Sergeant Benjamin D. Fillmore 20814095 POW, US Army. He was the son of Dr. and Mrs. R. S. Fillmore. He entered the US army on November 25, 1940 from the Texas National Guard at the time he was a Corporal. He sailed for the Pacific on November 21, 1941; he served with F Battery, 131st Field Artillery; 36th Infantry Division. He was member of “Lost Battalion;” captured by the Japaneses on Java on March 8, 1942; He was held in Nike #3 POW Camp Thailand 13-100; he was liberated on August 17, 1945; he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, the Prisoner of War Medal, American Defense Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal (PTO), The Good Conduct Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal. He was discharged February 15, 1946.
