TECHNICIAN 5TH GRADE PAUL B. FARRELL, 31299996 KIA US Army. T5 Farrell graduated from Boston Commerce High School in 1935. Shortly thereafter he came to this city and was employed by the Daniels Machine & Die Co. until November 5, 1942, when he enlisted in the Army. He was stationed at Fort Benning, Ga., for sometime, participating in many maneuvers from that base. T/5 Farrell shipped overseas with the 712th Tank Battalion on February 22, 1944, He served as the driver of a Sherman tank. Approximately two weeks after the Normandy Beachhead, his unit,was attached to 90th Infantry Division, landed in France. During an assault on the city of St. Lo, July 11, 1944, his tank was hit and he was instantly killed. T/5 Farrell leaves his wife and son, Mrs. Rhoda Farrell and Paul, Jr. of 104 Portland St. Haverhill Massachusetts, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Farrell, Dorchester, Mass., four sisters, and one brother.
