Lt. Col. Emery J. Moffitt Jr. 0-371388
Lt. Colonel Emery James Moffitt Jr. O-371388 was born on March 5, 1914, in Dallas, Texas. He was the son of Emery Moffitt SR, and Harrieta Hattie Alvina Kendrick Moffitt. On September 30, 1938 he entered the Texas National Guard. In 1940 he was serving as Sgt. in Troop E, 112th Cavalry . On November 18, 1940 he entered federal service in the US Army and was Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant.
He was discharged from the US army on December 29, 1946. He worked for the US Postal Service and retired as a Postal Superintendent at the time of his death he was living at 5020 Amesbury Dallas Texas. He married Eleanor Ann Gaffney on November 17, 1972, in Troy, Yorkshire, England. He died at 1:30 PM on March 26, 1981, in Dallas Texas at the age of 67.
