Sergeant James H. Duckworth 20814102 POW

Sergeant James H. Duckworth 20814102,  US Army POW. He was the son of Mrs. Stella Duckworth. He entered the US army on November 25, 1940 from the Texas National Guard at the time he was a Private. He sailed for the Pacific on November 21, 1941; he served with F Battery, 131st Field Artillery; 36th Infantry Division. He was member of "Lost Battalion;" captured by the Japaneses on Java on March 8, 1942; He was held in Fukuoka POW Camp #1 - Kashii (Pine Tree Camp) Kyushu Island, he was liberated on September 6, 1945; he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, the Prisoner of War Medal, American Defense Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal (PTO), The Good Conduct Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal.  He reenlisted in the US Army on June 24, 1946.
