Sergeant JAMES T. DEAN, JR
Sergeant JAMES T. DEAN, JR. was born April 28, 1923, son of Mr. and Mrs. J, T. Dean, Sr., of Dallas; attended Sunset High School, Enlisted in U.S. Marine Corps November 13, 1941 at the age of 18. He trained at Camp Elliott, San Diego California, and New River, North Carolina. He served in the South Pacific for 36 months, participating in battles of Guadalcanal, Tulagi, Tarawa, and Okinawa with the 2nd Marine Divisions and 1st Marine Divisions and 8th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion Decorations include Presidential Unit Citation, 2 Stars, American Defense, Asiatic Pacific (PTO), 4 Stars, Victory, and Good Conduct Ribbons, Sgt. Dean received an honorable discharge November 30, 1945, and is employed with Western Electric Company, residing with his wife, the former Christine Crisp, and 14 month old daughter, Dandra Lynn, in their new home at 210 E. Jerden Lane in Dallas, Texas.
