Private J. E. Ray Culwell, United States Army service number 38319745. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Earl Cuiwell of Caddo, Oklahoma. He was born on March 21, 1922. He entered the United States Army on January 11, 1943 he served in the South Pacific, Hawaii and the Marshalls. He was killed in action on Kwajalein Atoll Marshall Island  February 4, 1944, at the age of 21. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal.
