Captain James T. Coker , O-405391

Captain James T. Coker , O-405391, of Durant, Oklahoma, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Coker of 723 N. 13th, Durant, Oklahoma, he was born July 7,1917 entered U. S. Army Infantry. On January 8, 1943 James T. Coker earned the Distinguished Service Cross at Tarakena, New Guinea. On December 25, 1942 he earned the Silver Star Medal near Buna, New Guinea He was killed in action in New Guinea on May 3, 1944 at the age of 26 while serving with  Company F, 127th Infantry Regiment, 32d Infantry Division. Awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and Silver Star Medal, the Purple Heart MedalBronze Star Medal (BSM)The American Theater of operations MedalThe Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations MedalCombat Infantry Badge (CIB), World War Two Victory Medal
