He enlisted in the Navy November 12, 1942, and was assigned to Newport, Rhode Island, for his boot training U . S. Naval Training Station, Newport, R. I. . During his training period he contracted scarlet fever and was confined to the Naval Base Hospital. Pneumonia complications set in during this hospital period causing his death on December 19, 1942. Apprentice Clark is buried in Linwood Cemetery. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene C. Clark, 7 Woodrow Ave., and one brother.
