1st Lieutenant ROY CHRISTIAN O-767116 KIA

1st Lieutenant ROY CHRISTIAN O-767116 KIA, U. S. Army Air Corps. He was born June 10, 1921, at Fresno California. He is the son of Heinrich Christian, and Marie K Christian, of Modesto, California. He is also the brother of 2nd Lieutenant HARRY CHRISTIAN. 1st Lieutenant CHRISTIAN, entered service September 8, 1942, in Stockton, at the age of 20. He served overseas with 377th Fighter Squadron, 362nd Fighter Group, 9th Army Air Force, in England and France. He was Killed in action October 26, 1944 at the age of 23. He was buried at the American Military Cemetery St. Avold near Metz, France, in 1949 his body was moved to Mountain View Cemetery in Fresno, California. He was awarded the Air Medal with five Clusters, Purple Heart Medal (PHM), and the European Theater of Operations Medal (ETO).
