T/3 JOE C. BUTLER
Technician Third Grade JOE CLIFTON BUTLER US Army Airborne. He was born on March 16, 1922 the son of HERRY L BUTLER and RACHEL L MOORE BUTLER, in Goree, Texas. He entered the service on December 22, 1944, at the age of 22. He trained at Camp Hood, Texas; Fort Benning, Georgia; Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He served as a Paratroopers in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was discharged July 27, 1946 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, after 1 year, 7 months, 8 days of service. He was awarded the American Theatre Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. As of 1947 his occupation was Farmer.
