Seaman 2 Class R. V. Brice 9810566, US Navy KIA MIA. He was born in 1925, the son of Christopher and Rosa Brice, of Winnsboro, Wood County Texas. He was a graduate of Winnsboro High. He entered the Navy, on December 7, 1944, trained at San Diego. Served in S. Pacific, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Japan, and China Sea. He was serving on the USS Indianapolis in 1945 in South Pacific,and was Killed in action July 29 – August 2 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, the American Theater of operations, Asian pacific theater of operations with 2 battle stars, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
