PVT. ZEARL BLACK, US Army 

PVT. ZEARL BLACK, US Army WWI. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Black, of Garland, Texas. He entered the service on August, 1917. He trained at Camp Bowie Texas. He was assigned to Company E, 143rd Infantry, 36th Division. He went overseas July, 1918. He participated in St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, Champagne, having been transferred to the 2nd Division after arriving in France. He was discharged May, 1919.
