He served in the Medical Detachment 305th Infantry Regiment , 77th Infantry Division Killed in action December 23, 1944 at the age of 34. Awarded Battle Stars Purple Heart (PHM). Attended Beaver, Ohio, He is a Baptist. Son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bevens, of Beaver, Ohio. Husband of Mrs. Kathryn Calhoun Bevens, of 716 Scott Ave., Pikeville, Kentucky.
