Private First Class George D. Barnes

Private First Class George D. Barnes, US Army. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Almeta Jackson, Valley Mills, and attended Dunbar High. He entered the Army, in 1943, and trained at Camp Stewart, Georgia, Richmond, Virginia, and Fort Bliss, Texas. Served in Hawaii and Okinawa. Awarded Victory Medal, APO PACIFIC Ribbon with one Battle Star. Discharged in 1946.
