Private Raymond Russell Baker 37378818, US Army KIA. He was the son of William and Sadie Baker, was born near Glenwood, Schuyler county, Missouri on June 4, 1911. At the age of ten years he moved with his parents to Livonia, Missouri where he grew to manhood and graduated from the Livonia High School in 1932. He was inducted into the United States Army September 1, 1942. He trained in different camps, including  Camp Roberta, California; Camp Hood Texas Camp Palk, Louisiana. He was sent overseas with the 635th Tank Destroyer Battalion in February, 1944. He served in the First Division of General Hodge's First Army. He was killed in Action on October 15, 1944 at the age of 33. On October 30, 1944 his parents received the sad news that he had been killed in action while on duty with the Field Artillery on a wooded hill near Lamersdorf, Germany. Burial services were conducted by a Protestant Chaplain in the U. S. Military Cemetery No. 1, Henry Chapelle, Belgium located seven miles southwest of Aachen, Germany.
