Staff Sergeant Bruce E. Baker 38229579, US Army Airborne. He was born in 1918, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Baker, Lubbock, husband of Elaine Tedrow, attended Loving High School. He entered the Army on, October 6, 1942 in Abilene Texas around the age of 24. He served in the 508th parachute infantry regiment 82nd airborne division trained at Camp Blanding, Fla., Georgia and N.C. He served in Normandy, and was taken Prisoner on June 11, 1944. He was held at Stalag 12D Waldbreitbach Rheinland, Prussia, for 9 months. He was awarded the GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, Presidential Unit Citation, Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Prisoner of war, and European Theater of operation Medal (ETO) Ribbons with 8 Battle Stars. Discharged in 1945.
