Andrews, Staff Sergeant Elbert S. Andrews, and T/3 Thelbert W. Andrews, Arthell was the husband of Winnie Snodgrass. He entered the Army in on December 3, 1945, at Fort Riley Kansas, at the age of 18. He trained at Fort Bliss, Texas, Camp Haan, California and Fort Riley Kansas He served in Germany (ETO). He was awarded the World War two Victory Medal.
