Roy G. Armstrong 20814118 POW

Roy G. Armstrong 20814118 POW US Army. He was the son of Mrs. J. M. Armstrong. He entered the US army on November 25, 1940 from the Texas National Guard at the time he was a Private. He sailed for the Pacific on November 21, 1941; he served with F Battery, 131st Field Artillery; 36th Infantry Division. He was member of "Lost Battalion;" captured by the Japaneses on Java on March 8, 1942; He was held in a POW camp in Thailand he was liberated on September 5, 1945; he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal.
