They had a son Alexander De Fazio Jr. He served in combat with 1st Battalion Headquarters Company, 382nd Infantry Regiment, 96th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on November 3, 1944 on Leyte, at the age of 27. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, The Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, The Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations, World War Two Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal.
