Boatswain’s Mate, First Class James Leroy Akers

Boatswain’s Mate, First Class James Leroy Akers, US Navy. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James William Akers, of Graham, Texas. He was the husband of Joyce Maxine Rogers, he graduate of Graham High School. He entered the Seabees, in 1943, trained at Camp Peary, Virginia and Camo Endicott, RHODE ISLAND. He served in Africa. Awarded World War Two Victory Medal and European Theater of operation Medal (ETO), and the World War Two Victory Medal. Discharged in 1946.
