Private Hubert P. Acree NBD

Private Hebert P. Acree NBD US Army. He was born on September 14, 1928, in Meadville, Missouri, the son of Paul Acree, and Ella Blanche Lahman Acree. He entered the US Army on December 10, 1945. He served in the Military Police. He trained at Camp Robinson, Arkansas; Camp Kilmer, New Jersey; Brake, Germany. He embarked for the European Theatre on May 23, 1946. He served in the Army for 8 months, serving in the 759th MP BN. He was Injured in Military Police Motor Pool explosion and fire, on August 12, 1946. He passed away on August 14, 1946 at the hospital in Berlin, Germany, at the age of 17. Seven men died as a result of the explosion and 2 men were injured including Robert William Grote.
