Machinist Mate Second Class ERNEST H. RAMBO, JR. 6458643

Machinist Mate Second Class ERNEST H. RAMBO, JR. 6458643, U. S. Navy. He is the son of Ernest H. Rambo, Sr., of Route 1, Box 67, Pollock, Louisiana. He was born April 15, 1925, and attended Selma High School. Inducted April 17, 1943, in Shreveport, at the as of 18. He received his training at the United States Naval Training Station at San Diego, California Assigned to duty aboard the USS Copahee, he embarked for the South Pacific where he served at the United States Naval Air Base at Espiritu Santo, New Hebrides. Machinist Mate Rambo participated in one major battle, and he has the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations (PTO) Ribbon with one battle star, and he has also the American Theater of Operations Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged at New Orleans, April 19, 1946.
