Corporal Isidoro Munro Canales 512615 was born on March 11, 1926, in Houston, Texas, The son of Isidoro, and Annie Munro Canales. He moved with his family to Dallas Texas in the 1930’s. He enlisted on March 18, 1943 at the age of 17, in Dallas Texas. He trained in San Diego California, then in Jacksonville Florida. He served in Marine Bombing Squadron VMB – 413 in the Pacific. At the time of his discharge he was 5 foot 6 inches had brown eyes black hair, and weighed 165 pounds. He was awarded the Marine corps Navigator wings, Marine corps air crew wings, Expert Rifleman Badge, Sharpshooter badge, Air Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Battle Stars, Marine Good Conduct Medal, World War Two Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, and the National Defense Medal. He enlisted in the US Air Force after World War Two. He died on June 30, 1992, in Leavenworth, Kansas, at the age of 66.
