Soundman, Second Class DARRY L BYRGE KIA, U, S. Navy. Born February 12, 1925. Entered service June 29, 1943, at the age of 18. He served at Great Lakes, Ill.; Europe (ETO); Pacific (PTO). Killed in action March 27, 1945 in the (PTO). Awarded the Purple Heart (PHM) and two Battle Stars. Attended Belfry, Kentucky, High School. He is a member of Pilgrim Holiness Church. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey Byrge, and brother of PhM1/c LARRIE EUGENE BYRGE of McAndrews, Kentucky.
