PFC Charles “Bo” Wesley Axe 38284814, US Army KIA. He was born March 12, 1920 and he the son of Carl Henry Axe and Dovie Mae Rogers Axe of Rowlett, Texas. He was also the brother of S/SGT. Maurice Irving Axe, Coxswain James Ray Axe, Elsie Louise "Rusty" Axe, and Carl R. Axe Jr. Charles received his education in the public schools, in Garland, Texas, and was a Protestant. He entered the service on October 31, 1942, at the age of 22. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 7 inches tall weighed 148 pounds had blonde hair and blue eyes. Pfc Axe was assigned to the Coastal Artillery, and trained at Camp Wallace, Hitchcock, Texas; serving in the United States from Nov. 5, 1942, to May, 1943; overseas from May to Nov. 1943. He lost his life on November 20, 1943 at Aïn El Turk District, Oran, Algeria, he was 23 years old. He served in the 442 CA (AA) Bn Battery B 442nd C.A. Bn (Aa)
