Sgt. Elaine S. Schroeder

Sgt. Elaine S. Schroeder US Army WAC. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shirocky, of Smithville. She was the wife of M. P. Schroeder, of Taylor Texas. She attended Thrall High School. She entered the WACs in 1943, trained at Ft. Des Moines, Iowa. She served in the 1st Service Command. She was awarded The American Campaign Medal, The Good Conduct Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal. She was discharged in 1944.
