Sergeant LLOYD A. KROHN 37309539

Sergeant LLOYD A. KROHN 37309539 US Army Engineer Corps. He was born on November 16, 1920, Sherburn, Martin County Minnesota. He is the son of John Krohn and brother of Ervin L Krohn of Sherburn, Minnesota. He entered the US Army on October, 1942. He served in the 50th Engineer Combat Battalion and trained at Camp White, Oregon; Southern California; and advanced training in the Hawaiian Islands. He went overseas on April, 1943, to the Pacific Theater of Operations (PTO). He served in the engagements at Attu, Marshall Islands and Philippines. He was Killed in Action on Leyte, Philippine Islands, on October 25, 1944. His body was returned to the United States in 1949, he is interned at Fort Snelling, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Medal. The Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal With 1 Bronze Star, the Purple Heart Medal (PHM), and the World War Two Victory Medal.
