Captain John Henry Eisenberg 0-407019

Captain John Henry Eisenberg O-407019, US Army KIA. He is the son of Alfred G Eisenberg and Zona Eisenberg of Amarillo, Texas, he was born on April 29, 1918 in New Mexico. He is the husband of Mrs. Margarat Russell Eisenberg. Captain Eisenberg, served in the 142nd Infantry Regiment of the 36th Infantry Division, Texas National Guards from November, 1934, at the age of 14, until November, 1940. In this time he served in all ranks from Private to 1st Sergeant. He was a student at the University Texas, when he went on active Federal Service with the rest of the 36th Division. He had further training at Fort Benning, and he was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant in March, 1941; 11 months later he made 1st Lieutenant, and was promoted to Captain in March, 1944, while in the European Theater of Operations (ETO). He fought in Salerno and Southern France. On November 6, 1944, at the age of 26. He was listed as missing in Action, and one year later his death was confirmed on November 7, 1945.
