Satan the water buffalo. Served in 4th Platoon,Company A,382nd Infantry Regiment, 96th Infantry Division. He was found by Private Ova A. Kelley 39141987, who put a binder ring throw his nose, and put a bridle on him. After that he had a dugout canoe for Satan to pull with all the equipment and Ammunition that Company A needed. Satan Served during the Leyte campaign, on December 10, 1944, Private Ova A. Kelley was Killed in Action. After Kelley’s death someone else oversaw taking care of Satan. A few days after Kelley’s death Satan came louse of the knots that tied him up and he walked into the barbwire that had tin cans on it. The men of 4th Platoon thinking that it was a Japanese attack fired their Machine Guns killing Satan. The following morning the men of 4th platoon found Satan and realized what had happened.
