Stanley Martin Lieber AKA Stan Lee 12184201 US Army. He was born on December 28, 1922 in New York City, New York. He entered the US army on November 9, 1942, at the age of 19. He served in the Signal Corps, repairing telegraph poles and other communications equipment. He was later transferred to the Training Film Division, where he worked writing manuals, training films, slogans, and occasionally cartooning. His military classification, he says, was “playwright”; Lee was discharged from the military in 1945.

After the war he would become the editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics and he co-created fictional characters including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Black Panther, the X-Men, Ant-Man, Iron Man, and Thor.
