S/ Sgt. Douglas H. Agee 18124795,

S/ Sgt. Douglas H. Agee 18124795, US Army Air Corp KIA. He was born on August 27, 1920, in Saltillo, Texas the son of Carl Scott Agee and Mary Ellen Mitchell Agee.  He entered the Army Air Corps in July, 1942; trained at Sheppard Field, Sioux Falls, Ft. Myers, Fla., and others; served in England. He served in the 350th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), 100th Bombardment Group, Heavy, on  B-17F #42-30818 nicknamed “Salvo Sal.” As a Left Waist Gunner. He was killed in action October 8, 1943, over Bremen, Germany, at the age of 23. He was awarded Citation of Honor Air Medal, two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart Medal (PHM).  

 

Sgt. Agee  served on the aircraft by B-17F #42-30818 nicknamed “Salvo Sal.”, he was the only member of the crew to be Killed in Action when the aircraft was shot down, the Other members of the crew were:
