Staff sergeant John Fletcher Coston,
Staff sergeant John Fletcher Coston, United States Army Air Corps. He was born in 1917. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Coston, Valley Mills, attended Cranfills Gap High. He entered the Army Air Corps, January 19, 1942, around the age of 24. He trained at Sheppard Field, Texas, Barksdale Field, La., Greenville, S.C., Michigan, and California. He served in Hawaii, Australia, and New Guinea. He served in the 400th Bomber Squadron 90th Bomber, The Jolly Rogers 5th Army Air Force. He was reported Missing in Action, on February 21, 1943. Declared dead in January 21, 1946. He died around the age of 25.
