Shipfitter Second Class, ROBERT J. MAcLEAN, US Navy R (Seabees). He was born in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada, on August 14, 1920. He is the son of William W. and Frances (Wallace) MacLean; attended Framingham High School and Wentworth Institute. Entered the US Navy at Boston in 1942; around the age of 22. He served in the Aleutians for a year, enrolled in Navy V-12 program; stationed at Berea College, Kentucky, Columbia University, New York, Indiana State Teachers College. He was later assigned to Kershaw Attack Personnel Center at Portland, Oregon; attended diving technicians school at Tiburon, California. He fought in the Aleutian Islands. He died at Long Beach, California, on January 26, 1945; and was buried in Framingham. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon (PTO) with one star, American Area Ribbon, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
